WOLLONGONG MIDNIGHT CRAB CATCHING.
Oh man, this was an impromptu activities cause Penny initially came over to my house to fetch me to her unit and touch on our powerpoint presentation. When she arrived at my door, she told me to bring an extra set of clothes. I was struggling whether i should go for it as i had not been having sufficient rest then. Well, i decided to go for it anyway. It was a awesome trip though i suffered from weariness the following couple of days.
It had been a donkey years since i had last seen Jim and Crystal. On that night, there were a sole guy together with 7 females tagging along. We set off at 9pm and met up with jim and the rest at hurstville. Jim led the way out of Sydney and off we headed for wollongong!
This is unbelievable, i was not sleeping for the entire trip to wollongong. Most of them time, i was chattering with Summer and singing out loud in the car with the rest of the girls. Within hours, we reached the beach. I had to admit that i was having cold feet when i caught sight of the place that we were going to carry our activities because ruthless high tides are hitting against the rock consistently. What if someone was being carried away into the sea?
So, i was conscientiously alert of the waves coming to us and did not really dare to go far while the chivalrious Jim & Summer went distance away from us. The rest of us were basically fooling around in the safe zone, inspecting the area with the dim touch light for crabs. (Man, we should have brought more touchlight there!) Even if we were to spot the crabs lying on the rock, nobody really manage or dare to catch it. I did give a try, yet failed. They may seemed small, but they escaped swiftly. Later, we appraoched a pool-like corner where lots of sea urchin were visible for us.
Sheesh, after an hour of warm-up. I plucked up my courage and went down to the water to catch them. I had no gloves with me, so i pull down the sleeves of my snickers and it was a relatively big harvest. There was this sea urchin which i broke all his spikes and it was still sticking madly onto the rock like a super glue. And i got attacked by his spikes on my fore finger, it hasn't recover till now ):
Meanwhile, Jim and Summer recruited our team and they had a big bucket of crabs along with them. Everyone cheered! Yay! We'd plenty of crabs to taste when we are back in Sydney!
This time, i insisted partnering with Jim and headed far to catch the crabs as well. Oh, after a couple of successful catches, i began more valiant despite being un-skilled in swimming! I can be easily swept off by the fierce waves that were attacking us occasionally. It was such a awesome experience man! We got a couple to huge crabs and it was really hilarious in the process of catching one of the crab!
We stopped by a Macdonald for our dinner, i had an extra chocolate sundae that made me shiver while having them. I love ice-creams! Teehee.
Then, all of us gathered at Penny's unit at an 2plus am in the morning dealing with the crabs. Jim cleaned and cooked the crabs and we would be having the chilli-crab the following day for dinner. (By the way, the crabs tasted heavenly! )
Got home at 3 plus am and did a quick wash up before i went into my dreamland!
Right now, pictures!

Dang! This was my first catch, i thought it was a crab! On the second thought, why on earth would the crab stick onto the rock and i had to put on some force to pull it out. It turned our to be i-dono-what-it-called.

So, i gave up on the crabs and directed my attention to the sea urchins! Look at my first try, my body language depicts that i was a little scared.

And then, i was more courageous after catching some. And i wanna more!

And more this time! Look, i was getting onto the water now! Hahaha!

And these were the sea urchins that were being slaughtered by jim and consumed by Summer and Penny.

Ta da! Our fruiful catch! Okay, it's me in the picture. Just in case the people wanna look for me cause it was illegal, we didnt have a liscence you see.

It was cruel because they were killed alive. Awww.
So, that round up our entire activity! I wished to be back for another round of enjoyment! Woohoo!
